ANC Expels Malema, finally

South Africa ruling party has finally expelled embattled beleaguered Youth League leader Julius Malema after a protracted battle he has had with the party's disciplinary organ. The announcement was made on Tuesday night following the unsuccessful efforts from Malema and his legal team to appeal the decision of the disciplinary committee. Previous determinations on Malema's cronies, league secretary-general Sindiso Magaqa and spoke person Floyd Shivambu have also been upheld. Magaqa will face a one year suspension while Shivambu will face a three-year suspension.

World Bank, IMF call for inclusive growth, poverty reduction

Washington - The World Bank and the International Monetary Fund (IMF) have called for further efforts on inclusive growth and poverty reduction amid fragile global recovery."The global economic outlook remains challenging,” the two Washington-based agencies said in a statement issued after a joint development committee meeting this weekend."Policy adjustments and improved economic activity have reduced the threat of a sharp global slowdown. Growth in emerging and developing economies continues to be relatively strong, but poor countries still need support.
